Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

1. Information We Collect

When you use SettleIn, we may collect: email address (when you sign up or subscribe to newsletter), profile information you provide (name, country, city), chat conversation history, community posts and comments, and document vault data you enter. We also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics.

2. Document Scanner

Images uploaded to the document scanner are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. We do not permanently store your uploaded documents on our servers. Scanned images are processed in real-time and discarded after the response is generated.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and improve our services, send you the newsletter you subscribed to, personalize your experience, respond to your questions, and analyze usage patterns to improve the platform.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Supabase (cloud database) with encryption at rest. Our servers are hosted on Vercel. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, and what each one receives:

  • Supabase — database and authentication. Holds your account, and anything you save: vault documents, checklists, renewal-check answers.
  • Vercel — hosting. Sees requests and IP addresses.
  • Anthropic — AI processing. Receives what you type into the chat and anything you submit to the document scanner.
  • Resend — email delivery. Receives your address and the contents of emails we send you.
  • Polar Software, Inc. — merchant of record for web subscriptions. Takes the payment, handles the tax, and holds your email and billing details. Polar is the name that appears on your card statement, not SettleIn. Polar also sends you the subscription emails directly: order and subscription confirmations, a reminder seven days before a long-cycle renewal, notices when a card is about to expire or a payment fails, and confirmations when you cancel, pause or resume. Those are sent by Polar on our behalf, and we have deliberately left them switched on — being told before you are charged is not something we want to opt you out of.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — if you subscribe inside the iOS app instead. Apple takes the payment and we receive an anonymised subscriber identifier through RevenueCat; we never see your card details.
  • Sentry — error tracking. Receives technical error reports, which can include the page you were on and your account id when you are signed in.
  • Upstash — rate limiting. Sees a hashed form of your IP address to count requests.
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics. Google Maps — neighborhood maps.

Each has their own privacy policy. This list was materially incomplete until 19 August 2026: it named six services and omitted Polar, RevenueCat, Apple, Sentry and Upstash. We are recording that here rather than quietly correcting it.

6. Cookies

We use localStorage for preferences (language, theme, document vault data). Google Analytics uses cookies for anonymous usage tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

You can: request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account and data, unsubscribe from emails at any time, opt out of Google Analytics. Contact arek@settleinturkiye.com for any data requests.

8. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and every email includes an unsubscribe link. We never sell your email address, and we never pass it to anyone for their own marketing. It does reach the processors listed in section 5 that need it in order to work — Supabase stores it, Resend delivers the message, and Polar holds it if you subscribe on the web. That is the honest version of a sentence that used to read "we never sell or share your email with third parties", which was absolute in a way we could not actually stand behind.

9. Children

SettleIn is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will notify users of significant changes via email or website notice.
